My Gift

Part I:

I am learning

My instincts

Are valid

Almost always

Right

My “gut”

Speaking

Internally

Audibly

I’m listening

In a way

Like never

Before

An earthly

Almost animalistic

Movement

Meaning

Flowing through me

A voice

Quieted

Far too long

Bringing joy

Living in this

Moment

Learning

I am courageous

Tenacious

Enough to

Follow my instincts

Able to

Do anything

My mind

Spirit

Sets out

To do

It’s that

My focus

Cares less

And less

About accomplishing

More and more

About being

Loving

Myself

And

Those special

Ones happening

To cross

Paths

Doing this

Anywhere

Everywhere

I’m at

Weird place

I’m not searching

For change

Just living

Open

To it

Blowing

In a

Light

Summer’s eve

Breeze

Part II:

Oh, the process

Locking eyes

Unable to hide

From you

Something in me

Wanting you

To see me

Making myself

Available

To you

Willingly opening

My blinds

And windows

Allowing the

Trusting draft

Replenishing

Opening

My front door

Allowing you

To walk in

Have a seat

To dine

And experience

Me

Us

In the process

Feeling

Your embracing

Of your fears

Wounds

From the past

Learning

This is my gift

To

From

The Universe

An offering

Of Who

I am

At a level

Most people

Have never

Experienced

And many

Never

Will

Learning to

Love

This about

Me

Sensing

The gift

Growing stronger

As I

Grow stronger

Moving farther

Away

From the

Dark fear

Controlling

Me

Always

Gentle

Never

Hurting

On purpose

Life lies

Dead ahead

Let’s

Slowly

Enjoy it

Together

PS. This is one of the rare poems that as I reread it had more to say. Hence the Part II!
