Wildfire

Quietly sitting
I’m challenged
To move
To connect
With another soul

I know it’s her
Curly hair
Sharp blue eyes
Overwhelming joy
Unbridled feeling
Of home

We sit
We listen
We connect
We don’t talk
Until it’s time
Then she shares
I’m white light
Flickering fire
Reds
Oranges
With
Mother Teressa
On my
Right Shoulder

She is
A death doula
Sitting with
Those on the precipice
Of the next step
Her presence
Draws out
A picture of
An amusement park
Her being
The attraction
Drawing in joy
Celebration
Laughter
I walk away
Brightened
By her beauty
And radiance
