I refer to both femininity and masculinity as having a unique flow. While often separate, there is a lot of fluidness that can exist in them both, especially when understood and put into practice. I believe there is so much to learn in this area that takes us farther away than the stereotypes that exist within our modern culture. There are many adjectives used to define both of these terms which can be helpful, but in the end, I believe it’s more of a fluid state of being. I will put words to them both, but understand, this is an open and ongoing discussion within my life.
Masculine Flow
The masculine flow finds itself in being active while seeking, exploring, go getting, and planning. For the masculine there is more risk involved in life, and therefore, men tend to rush headlong into life, not planning or even considering the processes and changes that naturally come along. The masculine is persistent and serves as the strength-based outcome to whatever it sets its mind to accomplishing. It is not shy about expressing itself, therefore, positively influencing its reality, and the reality of those it comes in contact with.
Feminine Flow
The feminine flow is grounded in nurturing, empathy, humility, sensitivity, and kindness. The feminine within humanity, and nature, desires to be the glue, or fluidity, that holds people and community together. It’s a driving relationship-focused force that divinely comprehends the truth that we are better when together. It naturally works against loneliness and moves purposefully towards unity in body, mind, and spirit.
Much of my understanding of the masculine and feminine is based upon the joy and intimacy of the guides who have helped to shape my life. It has helped me intensely to witness their fluidness and ability to juggle their masculine and feminine energy and how they are able to be themselves in all situations.
Just like we are birthed physically through the feminine, our spiritual awakening is integrally woven within our feminine energy. This feminine is the nurturing cocoon that kept us alive and protected so we could arrive into this world.
Fluidity
Usually the feminine is more dominant in women, as the masculine is in men. When these two natural forces come together in one place, body, or relationship, a fluid, co-creating, resiliency naturally occurs. This intersection is an exciting place. We get more spacious in who we are when these two dominant energies are in balance. There is a fluidity that occurs which seems to change the air that is being breathed in. The more I have understood, and we understand this important place, the more we can discover intimacy in our lives.
