The Storm

The storm hits

Washing up

It’s harsh tide

Bringing with it

Pain and fear

The onslaught

Could continue

Never ending

A humming

A swarm

Of angry wasps

Hovering close above

Weary of

It’s sting

I’m tired

Tired of this shit

Tired of it

For my sons

Tired of it

For me

I’m learning

Even if

Even when

It doesn’t stop

I must learn

To continue

Onward

With tenacity

Not pretending

It’s not there

Acknowledging accordingly

Not allowing

It’s incredulous

Soul-eating poison

Eroding away

Joy and hope

The light

That shines brightly

My words

Bubbling from the

Depths of

The sea

The Universal sea

That brings forth

Existence

Transcending pain

And loss

Driving me

Inviting me

Towards

Freedom
