Treasure Hunt

Words flowing

Pieces fitting

Ones that have

Been non-fitting

For a lifetime

Been digging

Through rock and clay

Breaking shovel

After shovel

Splintered hands

Stripped of skin

Searching for answers

Within the rubble

Stumbling upon

A deep chasm

Jumping into

An old cave

Suffocating

Offering rest

From the ongoing

Onslaught

Listening to

The spirits alive

In this space

Treasure hunt

For freedom

Knowing survival

And liberating

Discovery

Now possible

Religion no longer

Pulling the wool

Over my eyes
