Self Portrait

This was the first picture I took with my Nikon in 2017. It was taken in the Winter of 2017. After I shot it, I met with my good friend Lex and she was the one who said it looked like me! Spikey hair and arms that wrap around all those I meet in love and kindness. What a gift her words were, and what a gift photography has become for me.

I love the whole process of taking photos. From thinking about where I want to go to take them to walking when I’m taking them. I love looking all directions with the hope of finding a shot that truly speaks to me, and finding truly unique pieces to photograph. I had a photography teacher tell me that the key to great pictures is not what you are using to shoot them. Rather, the eye it takes, and sometimes patience required, to get a great shot. For this reason, I use whatever is available to get my shots. I try to keep my shots as raw as possible.
